Remapping
Mobile ECU remapping and gearbox tuning
Health check first, written warranty. No card deposit required to enquire. Reply and we lock the diary slot. Time confirmed before we travel.
What we do
Stage 1 remap
A calibration change on a standard engine. No hardware changes. For vans, most owners want smoother torque and steadier motorway economy. For cars, sharper throttle and mid-range pull.
Stage 2 remap
For vehicles with supporting hardware already fitted. We check what is on the car first and tell you plainly if the hardware does not support it.
Gearbox / TCU tune
Shift-time and torque-limit calibrations on DSG, ZF and DCT gearboxes for VW group, BMW and Mercedes. Done alongside or separate from an engine remap.
Coding
Dealer-level module coding on the same visit, such as retrofits and feature settings.
DPF and EGR assessment
Live-data assessment of soot load, differential pressure, regeneration history and EGR flow. We tell you what has failed and what the repair is before anything is written.
Stock vs Stage 1
Typical, not a promise.
| Stock | Stage 1 | |
|---|---|---|
| Power | Manufacturer figure | Higher, varies by engine |
| Torque | Manufacturer figure | Higher across the mid-range |
| Throttle response | Soft, delayed on many diesels | Sharper, more linear |
| Motorway MPG | Baseline | Often similar or slightly better with the same driving |
Real gains depend on the engine, its condition, fuel and the file we agree. We quote your vehicle, not a brochure number.
How a remap visit works
60 to 90 minutes on site for most Stage 1 jobs. Longer for gearbox work or if the health check finds something.
Health check
Codes, live data, battery voltage, boost and fuel pressure. A live fault stops the job until it is diagnosed.
Write the agreed file
We write the calibration you agreed to, then check for new codes and adaptation values.
Road test
Logged drive to confirm boost, fuelling and temperatures stay inside safe limits.
Legal and insurance, plainly
A remap is a modification. Tell your insurer before you drive the vehicle. If you lease or finance it, check your agreement first.
It can affect a manufacturer warranty claim, so check before you book.
We will not map a vehicle with a live AdBlue, DPF or EGR fault until it is diagnosed. Mapping over a fault hides it; it does not fix it.
Guide prices are given after we see the reg and the health check. AdBlue diagnosis and fix stays from £249 and is priced separately.
AdBlue warning or countdown? That's a repair job first. See AdBlue repair.
